#CHAT16 is held at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill at the Institute for Arts and Humanities, Hyde Hall (unless otherwise noted). Hosted by the Carolina Digital Humanities Initiative.
Hyde Hall is located at McCorkle Place on the campus of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Hyde Hall is accessible from East Franklin Street.
Parking is available at several nearby lots:
1. City lot, entrances on Rosemary and Church Streets
2. City lot, entrance on Rosemary Street
3. Bank of America parking deck, entrance on Rosemary Street
4. City parking deck, entrance on Rosemary Street
5. Morehead Planetarium lot, entrance on Franklin Street
6. UNC visitor lot, entrance on Cameron Avenue
7. Handicapped restricted parking, entrance through alley on Franklin Street
Take exit 270 (HWY 15-501) towards Chapel Hill. Take a left off of the exit to turn onto 15-501. After 1.5 miles, the road forks. Stay to the right to enter Franklin Street, and drive about 2.5 miles. Hyde Hall is located on campus, just beyond the Morehead Planetarium and Science Center and across the street from the Post Office.
Take 15-501 North into Chapel Hill. After crossing over Fordham Boulevard (otherwise known as the 54/15-501 bypass) the road becomes Columbia Street. Proceed for 1.5 miles (7 stoplights). Turn right at Franklin Street, which will be the eight traffic light. Hyde Hall is accessible from Franklin Street less than one-half mile after turning right.
Take I-85 South to 15-501 South. Continue 1.6 miles past the I-40 interchange and take the Franklin Street exit, which veers to the right (signs for Morehead Planetarium and Franklin Street precede the exit by a half block). Proceed on Franklin Street for about 2.5 miles. Hyde Hall is located on campus, just beyond the Morehead Planetarium and Science Center and across the street from the Post Office.
From Greensboro or Winston-Salem
Take I-40 East (watch for the separation of I-85 and I-40 just east of Efland) to exit 266 for HIghway 86. Turn right onto Highway 86, which becomes Airport Road. Stay on Airport Road 4.1 miles to the Franklin Street traffic light. Turn left onto Franklin Street. Hyde Hall is accessible from Franklin Street less than one-half mile after turning right.
